Courage in Camo
This piece is near and dear to my heart. This came out of me at my most vulnerable point. I decided to take a week long art class with my idol, Alex Grey, and we were supposed to just relax and free-form create anything. I was so intimidated at this point that I grabbed my watercolors and just started throwing it on the paper. The whole time I was thinking about how unworthy I was to be in this class with all these talented people. I feared that the painting was going to turn out ugly and that I'd be exposed as a fraud. Then everything changed when I saw an elephant in all the watercolor splashes. I clung to this elephant and did everything I could to bring it to life but, like me, it still wanted to hide--because sometimes it's just safer that way. So my elephant still has bunny ears and flippers so it can be hidden from those that would hurt it.
Here are the details:
The paper is 10"x 8".
The image size is 8.6"x 7".
There is a 0.5" white border around the image.
Each giclee print is made with archival, pigmented inks and printed on fine art bright white (100% cotton rag) paper. Different sizes and paper types (including eco-friendly bamboo!) are available upon request. Each print is shipped with a backing board and in a print sleeve for protection. The Unmaker watermark will not show up on the finished product. Please note, these are not printed in-house so they take about two weeks for them to be sent to me and then I send them out to you. Overall, expect the turn around time to be approximately three weeks (usually less).
